Nope. I think she's ugly. I think she's smart and dresses well, and does her hair and makeup nicely and all that - but her face is not aesthetically pretty to my eyes.

Speaking as someone with Lebanese and Arab relatives, this is 100% correct. Jewish people do the same thing. Slip in and out of white identity based on expedience.

To answer OP’s question, Amal Clooney is well dressed, well groomed, thin, and elegant, but if someone told me she was born male, I could believe it. There’s a distinctly masculine cast to her features that makes her more handsome than beautiful.

This is true, but white-white people did this TO these communities for their own convenience for eons. You can't complain about it now.

The poster who said Arabs are white when it's convenient is spot on. Arabs from the Levant are not typical "people of color" but we will leverage that when it's useful. As for Sanchez I wouldn't know she wasn't white when looking at her.

I think she is pretty. In maybe a non-conventional way, and I think her sense of style helps. She's not a petite blond with a tiny upturned nose, but she is very striking.

She has a slender face . The long jet black straight hair just accentuates that .

A haircut with curls and highlights would do wonders to give her some much needed volume to the face.

Yes . If the name George Clooney was on a reservation for a Beirut restaurant or hotel suite, it would’ve been assumed it’s a Lebanese man. George is a common name among Christians , and Cloony sounds Lebanese .

Her name however is Amal Alamuddin which is definitely not an Anglo name . Despite being raised a Brit, her parents gave her a super old fashioned and very Arabic first name Amal. Not even an Arabic name that’s global like Leila or Aliya or Aida or Sarah or Norah. But Amal..

Amal is a grandmother name. It means nope but it’s usually not a name someone with a whitewashed family would name their kid . I doubt Amal was raised to identify as white for this reason. Given the last name, an Anglo conscious family would’ve named a more global first name
