Why would she feel dumb? That's the point. You convicted the guy without any evidence. You did not know any more than the PP knew at the time. Now that you have the alleged evidence, NOW is the time to form your opinions. I was one who always though he was gulity but even I understood the PP's point. Oh and a young adult was murdered - no need to gloat about bieng right. |
I was a PP who always thought he was gulity....your statement is not cool. Honestly, I learned a lot reading other people's perspectives. It caused me to re-think some assumptions that I always had. So I appreciate that folks made the effort to express their thoughts. And I would hate if your statement and others like it stopped folks form having that kind of discussion. |

PP is reading too much into the statement. Here is what it says:
"For the past five years, the Virginia State Police has been aggressively pursuing the investigation into the disappearance and death of 20-year-old Morgan D. Harrington of Roanoke, Va. Last week, the arrest of Jesse L. Matthew Jr., 32, of Charlottesville, Va., provided a significant break in this case with a new forensic link for state police investigators to pursue. There is a still a great deal of work to be done in regards to this investigation and we appreciate the public’s patience as we move forward." The statement merely states JM's arrest provided another forensic avenue for investigators to pursue. It does not categorically link him to either situation. If and when it does, the issue then would be whether the forensic link - whatever that turns out to be - would withstand defense cross-examination. |
