Not really. Most people don’t give a specific location when they’re asked what city they’re in. He’d have said “New York” in contrast to Paris. So he’s referencing a specific location on purpose, ie to signify potential meeting, or at least being in the vicinity of, Trump.

Really? Someone asks if you’re still in Paris and you respond “no I’m standing on 44th and Broadway?”

Any normal person would respond “no I’m in New York” - unless they’re trying to draw attention to a specific place or person. Like saying “I’m at the White House” instead of just “DC.”
