Trump Campaign verbally and physically assaults Arlington Memorial staff, illegally uses site for campaigning

“We invited him. He didn’t come to us,” said Darin Hoover, father of Staff Sgt. Darin “Taylor” Hoover. “He has shown nothing but sincerity to all of us and for what happened to our children, and for anybody else to try to take that away from the ceremony — both at the wreath-laying and at the graveside — is unconscionable.”

Okay. And? Did they invite him to film at Section 60 for a campaign event? If so, that was wrong of them and every Gold Star family knows it. It was wrong of Trump to do it. ANC told his people they were not allowed to film in Section 60 and that they were not allowed to create material for a partisan election from his visit. He did it anyway.

He could have gone there and not brought any photographers and provided "comfort" without filming or recording it. Any guesses as to why such a thing is unlikely to ever happen? Have you ever once heard stories of Trump going to provide "comfort" to people without filming it? Have you heard the story of how he pushed his way uninvited onto a dias at a children's hospital charity event he didn't donate to or even get an invite to just so he could get into the photograph to make it seem like he was a donor? Tell us if you know that story. Happy to find the link for you. That is his modus operandi. Not secrete visits to provide "comfort" without getting any accolades in return.

I don't think it is for us to say how this family deals with the loss of their loved one. If it helps them to be involved in the trump campaign, they just can't do that in Arlington national cemetery for good reasons.

Nor can they disrespect the rest of the military to facilitate Trump's illegal commercial.

Is this a well known law or were they bombarded when they were in the middle of something. It doesn’t make it right but her action could have been startling. Trump’s usually surrounded by secret service.

THEY WERE INFORMED IN ADVANCE IT WAS NOT ALLOWED.

Yes I am shouting. This has been all over the news.

Seriously, this should end Donald's campaign. Who the F do he and his staff think they are? Really vile.

And yet, it won't move the needle one bit, and a large segment of the US military will vote for him.

Folks, the favorite MAGA tactic is "whataboutism". In this thread, MAGAs keep trying to "whatabout" unrelated events. Don't reply to them. Just report their posts. They want you to reply. Even if you are correcting them, you are talking about something other than the topic of this thread. That is their goal. They want you to talk about anything else. Don't play their game.

The list is so long that it's effectively not a list. He's the worst President in history, and he's now the worst nominee in history. Fortunately, he'll be out of politics soon, and the country will be so much better off for it.

Why are they so clearly including that other soldier in this? That is just not right.

So we can just follow the rules and laws that we want now and say f all the others? Just really trying to understand why the party that has respect the blue bumper stickers is like hey, if you don't like a rule, just don't f and follow it

+1 Also let’s turn the hallowed ground of fallen heroes into a daily parade of every candidate for every national, state and local office taking pandering pictures there to show they support the right kind of dead veterans who died during their opponent’s term in office. Gross.

The party of "law and order" has turned into a hypocritical joke under Trump. History will be very unkind to this GOP era.

More like...what is your point?

There is no doubt she feels this way and that other parents of other fallen heroes would blame other politicians. That is exactly why the political campaigns need to stay out of this particular place.

It's a grieving mother who is not addressing the issue at hand which is that the Trump campaign turned it into a campaign stop by illegally making photos and videos of Section 60 and then turning them into campaign ads, without even asking the family of the soldier right next to hers whose name is visible for all to see as if he is also stumping for Trump.

That is vile.

Sorry for your loss, ma'am. We cannot keep ANC sacred and free of politics if we allow a presidential candidate to break the rules that everyone else follows.
