You can check the listings on Indeed.com to verify or the BIM site itself.

BASIS Independent - 4 new jobs posted

Dean of Students-High School | Mc Lean, VA
Administration (Managers), BASIS Independent Virginia Jobs

Director of Student Affairs-Elementary | Mc Lean, VA
Administration (Managers), BASIS Independent Virginia Jobs

Dean of Students-Middle School | Mc Lean, VA
Administration (Managers), BASIS Independent Virginia Jobs

Dean of Students-Elementary | Mc Lean, VA
Administration (Staff), BASIS Independent Virginia Jobs

They are probably expanding. With the new #1 ranking, the student body is probably growing fast.

Bingo!

Do let us know when they commit the next $20 million to build out the other half of the building that they have been renting empty since 2016. That on its own has wasted about $20 million.

FWIW, immediate hires for management don't happen for growth midyear because the student body doesn't suddenly grow then. They had multiple people quit in those jobs last fall, covered them with inexperienced newbies, and now they are probably onboarding new people to take full charge next year.

That actually fits what we know about turnover.

They can keep running those radio ads and reeling in the new students.

It’s called rolling admissions

All the other schools have a set number of openings, and a significant amount of interest. BIM has an infinite number of openings, and little interest. So, they will keep rolling to get as many students as they can admitted, and even into the school year. They will even squeeze students into classes beyond advertised cap sizes, so be careful about that.

Not true! Instead, they will test candidates and provide a realistic assessment of whether the kid is a good fit. I believe it has been established over the years that Basis is focused on the long game. By now it has built an outstanding academic record and the flaws (size/sports/others) are also well known. Tuition is also much cheaper than in top privates despite better academics.

Everyone now acknowledges that BIM offer a superb education for less money than other schools.

BIM offers a stripped-down, test-grind regimen and very little else. They can't even brag about the faculty since so much of it has turned over in the last three years.

Truth in adverstising.

Bingo!

How does a for-profit school that charges way less than other not-for-privates provide a better education? Teachers choose to earn less at BIM? Investors are supporting a loss leader? There are no investments in anything but academics? Something’s gotta give? C’mon boosters, what gives?

I’d rather move to DC and apply for the free charter if I wanted a Basis education. Would not pay $$ for it.

I heard Whittle and Basis are teaming up for Chinese themed mega-school. And Niche deemed it the best future school in America!

Just checked.
BASIS McLean is ranked very top in the whole DC area:
#2 best high school for stem (only after TJ)

Any idea where does the Academies of Loudoun rank?
#3 best private K-12
#4 best private high school
#3 best college prep private high

Not surprised for the stem and college prep categories .
But surprised it is ranked #3 for k-12 private school and #4 for best private high school. There are so many top private schools in this area.
