Left stuffed shells out overnight. Still good or toss?

Anonymous
I baked stuffed shells last night, took them out of the oven, promptly forgot about them and went to bed. They sat out on the counter all night. Still good or toss? Ingredients were ricotta, parmesan, egg yolk, spinach... nothing out of the ordinary.

Yuck. Toss. How is this even a question?

I wouldn't toss them. I would just make sure I heated them very hot before eating them.

When in doubt, throw it out.

Yeah, it's a pain. But not nearly the pain you and your family would feel from food poisoning.

Sorry.

OP here. Yeah, my gut said toss. I just hate wasting food.

Its a bummer but Toss!

We did that one night with a very tasty pasta dish. DH was hoping to save it but I made him throw it out. I've had food poisoning and it was not fun.

Hey OP, next time if you are waiting for something to cool before storing in the fridge, set your oven timer to remind you to put it away! This helps me a lot.

Toss. That sucks!

Bacteria multiply within 2 hours of it sitting out. Heating it up will not kill the bacteria that will make you sick.
