| Has anyone had a tubal ligation done after giving birth? Meaning not during a c-section. If yes, how was your experience? How long did it take to recover? |
| I had one two years after giving birth to our last child. I went in that morning and was home by 3 or 4 that afternoon if I remember correctly. Moderate amount of pain that first night, no pain meds though. The next day I was still in pain (maybe a 6), but still felt up to driving the kids to a play place so they could run around. I just sat. By day four I was moving around pretty good with very little pain. By day seven I was back to 100%, although I still had to wait a few extra days to get back into my full workout routine because my strength was just not there. Best option ever! |
| OP here, thanks PP! That sounds encouraging. Going in for the consult on Friday. |

I had one 3 months after my last. I went in at 11 home by 3. I was groggy that day but felt fine after a good nights sleep I took pain Ned's the next day once or twice but otherwise I was back in action. The only ouchy part is when a child bumped the incisions.
(It was laparoscopic) I would suggest some hard candy to suck on after you wake up if you are intubated. |
