Private & Independent Schools

I know that this school buses from all over the area, but do a majority of students come from Mclean?
We're very impressed with the school, but want DC to have playmates closeby. If not and if we have to continue to drive long distances to see schools friends, then there's no reason to move her from her excellent Washington school. |
| We looked into this school and asked this very question at the tour. I don't recall the exact percentages, sorry (it was a couple years ago), but I seem to recall that it was something like well more than 50% of the students come from VA (60%?), with something like 20-25% from DC and the rest from MD. Again, I don't recall precisely, so apologies if this is off by some factor. |
| We live in DC. I looked at Potomac School and Holton Arms years ago and loved both of them, but I am very happy we chose to attend a school in DC. As kids grow up, they want to have more independence and informal gatherings with friends. It is tough to go if you have to be driven everywhere. The length of the commute does matter -- more and more as your kids grow up. |
