Give me trip ideas for a week

Anonymous
While I haven't arranged for leave or saved enough vacation fund yet for next trip, I love day dreaming about where to go next. Our interests are outdoors, architecture, culture and food.
What would you suggest if we have a week and 2 adults and one child? And which season do you suggest? Thank you.

How old is the child--I might suggest something different for a family with a teenager, than a family with a toddler

And any idea on budget?

OP here - child is 3 yrs old but an excellent traveller. We tend to go a little slower with him but dont restrict ourselves to places like disney. Our last trip was to India. We are all about the end product and definitely not luxury travellers. No spas or resorts. The budget would be about 3k excluding air tkts. TY!

Anguilla. But it will only have relaxation, local architecture (read houses in progress), imported food, and lots of culture.

Don't tell anyone

Cinque Terre - Ligurian Coast, Italy. Combine with Paris, Nice, Genoa, Milan...
Greece & the islands.
I hear great things about Thailand with families.
Northern California: Yosemite and Napa, take a Julia Morgan tour in Berkeley, Children's Fairyland in Oakland, day trip to Muir Woods, Muir Beach and the Pelican Inn for dinner. Chez Panisse bistro. Big Sur, Carmel (more great architecture)
St Bart has lovely villas and great food, Saline Garden is a secret place to get an inexpensive rental near the best beach and restaurant on the island. Saba nearby has fascinating architecture and nature hikes.
My DH is heading to Phoenix and there is a lot to see re: Taliesin West, Sonoran desert museum, botanical gardens, SW cuisine, waterslide resort pools Grand Canyon, Sedona. In NM you can stay at the Ghost Ranch.
I guess the kind of culture trip that would appeal to me right now (with a 6 and 4 year old) is NOT the same as what I would do alone or with DH - Turkey, Cuzco, Naples & Amalfi. Kids have been great on short nature tours but not prolonged museum visits...
