Wait list order for Mundo Verde

I was so disappointed to see last night as I was filling out my apps for charter schools that MV's wait list was ordered by application date. My fault for being unaware, but DC will obviously not be getting a spot.

Is this a new policy as of this year? I was aware that Yu Ying and Stokes did this, but I thought they were the only ones. Anyone know of others that do it this way?

Is this the sentence you read:

Applications received after 5:00pm on March 15, 2013 will be added to the 2013-2014 waitlist after the lottery has taken place in the order the applications are received.

I think their regular waitlist for those who get their applications in by the March 15 deadline is created via lottery.

This is NOT CORRECT. Mundo Verde's list is ordered randomly if you apply before the March 15 deadline, other than the preferences for siblings and founders. I think you may be referring to this:

"We will place applications we receive after the deadline on the existing waitlist in the order we receive them."

That only refers to applications received after the deadline.

Hi, this is OP. SORRY! I guess I shouldn't do these things at 1am. And yes, "Applications received after 5:00pm on March 15, 2013 will be added to the 2013-2014 waitlist after the lottery has taken place in the order the applications are received." was what I read but I must have slept through the two thirds of the sentence! I even re-read it because I was so bummed.

I feel better but definitely sorry for any undue stress my post caused!
