Anyone had this? all over body aches and no fever?

Anonymous
My DD is home today. She came home early yesterday complaining of all over body aches. I didn't send her today b/c she still feels bad. However, she has no fever. I'm talking not even something low grade. Is this a virus currently going around? If so, how long should it last?

Does she have any unusual bruising anywhere? Not suggesting any "violence", but if it continues and she has bruising, some bloodwork might be a good idea.

OP here. No bruising that I have noticed in the past 24 hours.

I can get really sick with no fever..tested positive for the flu with no fever. You may want to take her to the doctor just as a precaution.

I am the PP regarding no fever, this happened a few times when I was a child also not just as an adult.

You can give DD children's tylenol. It covers body aches.

It's possible to have to flu with no fever, but not usually... my guess would be it's just a random virus.

OP here. I've done that already. I'm just surprised there is no fever b/c she feels warm to me, and she isn't acting right.

The other day I picked up DS from daycare, and he threw up on me. Then he was fine after that--you'd never know he was sick.

The next day I woke up terribly achy, with terrible stomach cramps. I was also exhausted and slept on and off for two days. But I had no fever (maybe 99 if anything) and never threw up or anything.

I have definitely had that. Treat it like you would any illness. Lots of rest.

There was also some angry wife on the relationship forum who said her husband was faking sick because he was achy but had no other symptoms. I was wondering if maybe he had this too, and felt sorry for the dude. I was useless.

My daughter occasionally gets random fatigue/pain in various places. I give her tylenol and assume it is probably growing pains because it never seems to turn into anything else or have any other symptoms.

I occasionally get achy all over - as a frequent exerciser who doesn't get enough sleep, I just assume that my body gets tired from all the activity. It passes quickly.

I had this over the weekend. Terrible body aches, no fever, slept if off and it went away after about 18 hours. It so happens that my DS has full-blown flu - his started about 1 day b/f my aches. I think the aches might be part of a lesser-strain of the flu.

I had a cold, and then body aches with never a fever. For me, it lasted a good week with some days being worse than others.

This was DH last week. DC and I have been fighting lots of nasal congestion and sleeping more than normal, but not the level of body aches and general unwellness that he had last week.
