| I live in Fairwood section of Bowie and am looking for good preschool programs for my 2 year old son. I would love to find a Spanish Immersion program, but they seem to be scarce in PG County. Any recs for good and affordable preschool programs Spanish Immersion. Or otherwise? |

Hi OP,
I'm in the same boat as you since I live in Cheverly and would love an immersion program for my pre-schooler. However, I've found that DCUM is not the place to get info on PG County. I'm still looking and am happy to report back with what I find and I hope you will do the same! |

Thanks! Yes, I have found that there is little info on here for PG County. I work in DC where there are a lot more options! I would prefer something out here though. Please keep me posted if you find anything. My email is sanctuary2274@gmail.com
I have found a couple good preschools around here, but no immersion programs. Email me of you want me to share info! |

I've lived in the area a long time and don't know of any spanish immersion programs for preschoolers around here. Holy Trinity Episcopal Day School is right down the street and it's a great school.
|
| the pgparents email list is a little more helpful, but i am not aware of many immersion preschool programs. |
| Thanks everyone. I know about Trinity, but I don't think they take kids until 4 or maybe 3? I'm looking for my 2 year old. Any good recs that are not Spanish immersion for 2, almost 3 year olds? What is the PG parents email? |

Have you tried Leal Angels Bilingual Center in Bowie? They are a small bilingual licensed center taught by native Spanish speakers. That may be the closest to immersion you will probably get in Bowie.
www.lealangels.com Good luck |
| pgparents is a yahoo group. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pgparents/ |
| OP here. Thanks for the Rex about the bilingual center--I will check it out. Anyone have any experience with it? And thanks for the info on the yahoo group! |

Greenbelt Nursery School is absolutely fabulous and the last I heard they had an opening for their 2 year old class. It is 3 mornings a week.
|
And there are at least 4 Cheverly families who have children at GNS. |
|
This is in the southern part of the county in the Fort Washington area:
Broad Creek is fabulous. It is not daycare however, it is only part time, developmentally appropriate pre-school. I know it's not what the OP is looking for, but I'm adding it in case others check the thread based on the thread title. |
| I don't know of any immersions, but we loved St Matthews Preschool over by the high school. |
| My son will be starting in the Montessori primary program at St. Jerome's this fall. We are excited! I will report back to this forum how it goes. I liked the classroom and people involved. There are wood floors, large windows with natural light, and the materials are beuatiful: real china, glass, fresh flowers etc.... Also, the program is AMI which is an authentic Montessori accreditation. Anyone can hang out a shingle and call their program Montessori. St. Jerome's is in the Historic part of Hyattsville. Good luck to everyone! |
