Anyone knows FCPS hiring process for non-teaching position?

I am wondering if anyone can give me some tips on applying a non-teaching job in Fairfax County Public School. I applied online and called their HR dept after a week. I was told that I am qualified for the position and can call to introduce myself. However she only gave me a general number to the department w/o any specific informations, i.e. to whom should I speak to. I am a little hesitate to do so since it is not the standard hiring procedure(I called HR back and another person told me so). Now it has been another week and no one contact me yet and I start to think maybe I should just call. It's a full-time position requires specific qualification and has been advertised for a while. This is my first time applying job in public sector so I am bit confused. Any suggestions? Thank you.
