I can get a very nice deal for a new security system for my NWDC home (ver safe neighborhood). I am planning to sell in a year or so. The system would cost me a fraction of the regular price. For resale purposes, is it a good idea? Some homes around mine have sec systems, but the majority don't. Thanks.
No. We live by you. Have one and never use it. Not a factor in purchase.
No, not a factor.
Not a factor bc it's easy to find a cheap deal on the hardware and installation for a security system. The monthly payments are the biggest expense and obviously you're not going to help the buyers with that.
I agree, not a factor.
Actually a negative for me. My wife would want me to get the highest end monitoring package at $stupidfucker a month, cause to her fucked up brain anything other than a Roche Bobois showroom is the ghetto.

If you have a security system, it suggests you need a security system.
Look at how some of the exurbanites feel about bars on windows. |
