Anyone used Globalfit for a gym membership?

My insurance company has a deal with Globalfit, so I can get a discounted rate at a number of fitness clubs. Has anyone used Globalfit to join a gym? If so, were you treated any differently by the gym management? Would you use Globalfit again, or try to negotiate a lower rate with the gym?
