| Could we cook burgers on the grill in weather this cold? |
| We grill on our Weber in snow. Wind and rain are the only deterrants. |

you need to use more fuel becuase it takes more btu's in the ocld weeather. if you are using a propane grill -the propane sits on the top of the grates more in the cold so be very careful while lighting it.

Yes -- she had the lid closed, allowing gas to build up.
Solution -- if flame goes out, turn off the gas and open the lid so it won't build up. |
Not OP but thanks for sharing this info. It seems so common sense but not something that you would know if you are not familiar with gas tanks, grills, heaters, etc. |
I am OP and I posted that! I asked DH and that's what he told me -- makes sense. |

people think the "gas" does not fo\low in cold weather. It is not true. http://www.tailgatingideas.com/myth-busting-propane-winter-tailgating/

Wow--thanks for the safety report. Didn't know that was what happened to her.
OP--there are no dumb grilling questions. And yes, by all means, grill away. All winter long. Just light it with the lid OPEN. |
OP here. Grilling accomplished, and nothing blew up.
Thanks all. |
