Anybody actually get pregnant from sex after a few drinks?

| I know it happens all the time in the movies, but does anybody actually get pregnant from sex that occurs after a few drinks? I've gotten pregnant twice (1 miscarriage, 1 DD), and both times I've abstained from alcohol during and after ovulation. We're now trying again, and while I am willing to abstain from alcohol, there are times that I'd just really like to have a glass of wine to unwind before sex. So I'm wondering, did you get pregnant from sex after alcohol? Weird question, I know. |

| When I was trying I didn't abstain from alcohol. Right after you get pregnant the baby doesn't hook onto your bloodstream for a couple of weeks (it's just cells forming), so if you are trying, you would find out whether you were pregnant before alcohol would affect the baby. |

| Think of all the people who are not trying and get pregnany that way- I think a glass of wine or two will be okay |

Two of my neighbors had New Years Eve babies in September. Oh yeah, I'd say alcohol helps.
Okay, I heard this from a gal who is in fertility research, and she is pretty credible, but she says that they suspect that the female's orgasm has a lot to do with successful implantation. Has anyone else heard of such of thing? |

Um..... yes. I got really drunk one night with a guy I'd just started dating. The booze made us think that sex -our first time together - would be an excellent idea, and it also probably resulted in misuse of condoms. Which is how I ended up living my real-world version of the movie "Knocked Up." 
Most of my friends who've had kids did NOT abstain from alcohol while they were trying to conceive; most were moderate social drinkers to begin with. Most of us were pregnant for a few weeks before we found out and quit drinking. None of the children have developmental disabilities, so I wouldn't stress too much about a glass of wine here and there (or two) while you're trying to conceive. (UNLESS your doctor nixes it - listen to him/her.) |

| I know several people who had babies resulting from drunk nights, weekends, vacations and even boat rides haha. My own kids would never have been conceived without the existence of a couple of cute bartenders at the local bar where DH and went. |

| I got pregnant twice in nights where we drank and had very good sex. so maybe it wasn't the drinks so much but more the very relaxed and very good sex that led to conception. |

| I was drinking alcohol before and after I got pregnant -- though I didn't drink much after I got pregnant, a few glasses of wine in the two weeks following, I just had this sense I was pregnant... |

| Personally, I never needed a drop of alcohol to have sex with my boyfriend, now my husband. From the day after my wedding, I didn't drink any kind of wine, beer, liquor...nothing. Now I'm pregnant and and I get the relaxation from walking, listening to music I like and thinking well. |

| Our third was a "whoops" after we'd had a few drinks one night, and got lazy with the diaphram. All worked out ok - once we got over the initial surprise, we were thrilled. FYI she's now 4, and DH got snipped! |

| I abstained from alcohol when trying for #1, and it took months to get pregnant. When I got pregnant with #2, DH and I were NOT trying, and I would sometimes have a drink on the weekends and definately had several drinks on a trip we took that month. I think that moderate occasional drinking is perfectly fine for conception, esp if it helps you feel relaxed and keeps it fun. |
