Bethesda Ruth Chris troll

Anonymous
new post today in off-topic about how this loony mom wants to take her 3 yr old to nye dinner at RC tonight at 10 - is she a known troll? b/c the topic just seems so ripe for stirring up trouble and b/c there is unanimous dissent - and yet, she persists - it's an almost classic troll-y pattern, especially for dcum - get a bunch of parents upset over something vaguely important to them (a dinner out without kids), throw in some details to make it sound like you're an amazing parent ("we believe our child should be integrated into our lives") and then add something for fun: use Rith's Chris instead of some place fancier so the usual dcum will get caught up into whether its really a fancy place or not?

The poster is not a known troll, but if she is trolling in that thread, she has been very successful. I would have to give her credit for choosing a topic that comes with an expiration date. Whatever the case, none of it will mater in a few hours.

Yeah, but I don't think you can blame the original poster for that. Our users are obsessed with the topic. There are even a couple of spinoff threads at this point.

People, really. I mean, are you seriousing me?

I could have made this it's own thread, but I'll just say it here: I am amazed at the amount of nannying of this board people are expecting of Jeff. DCUM is an extremely well-monitored board, which is one of the main reasons it is a success. You are acting like a bunch of spoiled children, and I know Jeff can take care of himself, but please. This a board for parents, not children. Act your age, not your shoe-size.

10:30,

1 - first time I have seen the word 'serious' used as a verb

2 - thank you for ending your post with a line that brought back memories of Prince and Tom Jones for me.

You don't have to be rich to be my girl
You don't have to be cool to rule my world
Ain't no particular size I'm more compatible with
I just want your extra time and your ... KISS.

Woops! Correction: Ain't no particular SIGN I'm more compatible with... (I was thinking of a thread in the explicit forum and got distracted, my bad).

Think I want to dance...

Thank you for the laugh.

Oh and btw...this is not a "Parent only" board so get your facts straight.

It's not for children under the age of 10, either.

Those of you who have never seen "serious" used as a verb are not on Twitter enough. I can't take credit for that.

You're right; I'm not on Twitter at all. Thank goodness I have DCUM to keep me in the very outer edges of the loop.
