ISO nurse to give trigger shot

Anonymous
I can't do it, and DH is unavailable. Does anyone know of a traveling nurse who will come to the house and give the shot?

Thank you!

You can try---Do not know if she will be available. She may also have suggestions of other nurses.

There is a woman named Pam Collins who does this: http://www.homeinjectionsplus.com/. My nurse at Shady Grove recommended her to me, but I never ended up using her. Just as a side note, I was a TOTAL needlephobe and had my husband do all of my IVF injections. I ended up doing an IM injection (same needle as an IVF trigger injection) a few times during an FET cycle and was fine. I iced it for about 20 minutes beforehand and didn't feel a thing. It was not pleasant, but I survived and was quite proud of myself.

one of the nurses at your clinic probably does home services, ask there

I used the services of a visiting nurse from Home Injections Plus (a previous poster provided the contact info). The nurse actually works at Shady Grove and was fantastic!! I'm also a needlephobe and admit that it was not bad at all (especially after icing). My shot trigger was at 9:30 pm and cost $125. There is a slightly higher rate for shots needing to be administered after 12 a.m.

I thought about using this service and am so glad I didn't- I literally didn't feel it all three cycles. But someone did do it for me.

I was so sure that I would not be able to give myself the injections and when push came to shove and I remembered what the pay off could be I just did it. My husband sat right next to me to give support. It made me feel in control.

I can understand not wanting to do the shot yourself. I didn't think that I was going to be able to do it and something just came over me and I took charge. Good luck to you OP!

I just called them, and they only do this service for SG patients. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Oh, I found Emily Clark at www.womansplacedc.com, and she was great... She does short's for all the fertility offices.
