| My 10 month old, myself, and her nanny all have a stomach bug the pediatrician says is going around this week. If anyone out there has had it/their kid has had it, how long does it last? Thanks in advance!! |
| Both of my kids and I had it last week. The vomiting lasted one day -- a bit less, actually. The dizzy, slightly queasy feeling and the diarrhea lasted a couple days longer. We were all up and about on day 2, however. Only the first day was really bad. |
|
Our kid was nauseated for two days, had a little bit of diarrhea, did not throw up.
DH and I each had a stomach bug recently for about a week -- it was weird, we had vomiting/diarrhea on Day 1, felt totally fine on Day 2, had a relapse on Day 3, felt totally fine on Day 4. |
| Thought the diarrhea was gone (for me) after 36 hours but came back a day later. DH has managed to avoid it so far... |
| My toddler threw up last night and had some diarrhea today. So far, my husband, newborn, and myself have been spared. Really hoping the newborn doesn't get sick. Ugh. |
|
we had it a couple of weeks ago. DS is 10 months, too. same experience as 11:43 and 16:02.

My 7 year old had it last week. He woke up vomiting on Saturday morning and vomited many times over a 24-hour period. The queasiness and overall yucky feeling lasted several days after the vomiting stopped. He missed 2 days of school.
I was really worried about dehydration. The poor kid was miserable. Make sure you have Pedialyte at home. Give lots of fluids. This bug is nasty. |
| Anyone know the incubation period? My DD was possibly exposed earlier this week at school (one of her best buddies) and we were planning to visit some elderly relatives this weekend. I am hoping that we are in the clear and we won't get them sick. Any guesses? |
Up to 72 hours. I was exposed yesterday, now I get to play the waiting game |
Thanks! That's good to hear that it's not longer. Hopefully we didn't pick it up unknowingly somewhere else in the mean time.

Same for our family. |
| Everyone at daycare had it 2-3 days, but my kid had it 6 days. DH and I didn't get it. |
| My 18 month old had it first, one day of vomiting, the next day seemed fine, then the vomiting started over again on day 3. Poor guy was so dehydrated we took him to the ER at the advice of the ped. Then I got it, one day of vomiting and after three days I still have no appetite. The diarrhea is persisting with both of us, which I find strange, but I guess it's just running its course? Fingers crossed the DH is spared. |
| This is the strangest thing--started for me Christmas Eve. Pepto Bismol took care of it that day. Christmas Day, I felt a little better, but not great. The day after Christmas I was sick again and today I feel pretty bad again. I am taking quite a bit of Pepto Bismol just to get through the day, but the gurgling sound is awful and right kidney pain is bad. |
| We have all had it, ran about 5-6 days from beginning to end. First day is the worse, the rest is just uncomfortable. Like a constant urge to run for the bathroom and the stomach cramps are almost intolerable. My daughter and 3 yo grandson ended up at the ER one night because my grandson was still vomiting and hadnt been able to drink anything, so she took him in to be sure he wasnt dehydrated, and they ended up treating both of them. It sucks!! |
