ugh -this is ridiculous

I have heard about two types of people - those who have all their pregnancy weight melt off while breastfeeding and those who hang on to the last 10 lbs. I am in the latter category - I did absolutely nothing and lost all the weight I gained plus some. I was at my lowest weight in like 10 years. Then I stopped nursing... and I swear I'm gaining like 1/2 lb a day. UGH. Wondering when it's going to stop... and wondering how I can fit exercise into my day.

It's so hard. You have to eat less and exercise more. Weight Watchers is wonderful for motivation.

It's very, very hard OP. Don't beat yourself up. The Weight Watchers idea is a great one. Otherwise, if you don't want to spend the money on it -- invest in a nice planner. Write down everything you eat each day, make an exercies plan and stick to it. Enlist the help of some other new moms to stay on track. You can make your own club. Good luck. There is no easy answer.

Are you at all inclined to running? I run with my daughter four days/week (both weekend days plus the two I work from home) in a jogging stroller and it's a killer workout. It's particularly good on the weekends because we go first thing, so my husband gets to sleep in and I get a hot shower to myself when I get back.

It seems like most parents who exercise regularly do so very early in the morning, at lunch, or in the evening once the kids are asleep. I'm in the first category, but I'm a morning person, so it works.

Definitely don't beat yourself up--it's one of the many things no one tells you about having a baby. I was one of those who didn't lose the weight until I stopped breastfeeding. That part was good, less fun was the constant, "what, you're breastfeeding and not losing weight?!?!" comments while I was still BF-ing. Hang in there. I hope the weight gain stops soon--how frustrating.
