| I'm looking for something that will dry hard but taste good. Thanks! |
| Royal icing. I recently used the King Arthur icing mix and it turned out really good; glossy and it tasted good. Normally I make it the old fashioned way, which is comparable. |

I used this one: http://m.allrecipes.com/recipe/11587/recipesugar-cookie-icing
I thought it tasted pretty good and dried perfectly. I definitely used a little extra almond extract and it gave it a nice almond flavor. |
How do most people feel about egg whites these days? I'm not sure I'll have time to get meringue powder tomorrow. |

Thanks, I saw this one but wasn't sure how it would taste. I may give it a try. |
| I always use royal icing (powdered sugar, egg white, vanilla, and cream of tarter) and I researched the egg white thing last year before giving the cookies to little kids. Turns out the bacteria can't live in the dried icing, so it is safe. I always do use the highest quality eggs I can find, though. |
I used this one also. I do not like almond flavor so I substitued vanilla. |
