Does teacher's recommendation matter is she is recommending several children in my child's class?

it just occurred to me that my child's teacher will be recommending several children in her class to a particular school. does this mean that the importance of her rec for my child is somewhat diminished?

Your teacher won't be "recommending" the children exactly. If you take a look at the form (though it is indeed called a recommendation form), it's not really asking for an explicit endorsement. It asks the teacher to provide candid feedback on the child's social/emotional, physical and academic development. It also asks for a description of the child (first thoughts that come to mind) and about parent involvement, etc.
