Our new house has a two car detached garage and a foundation for shed (but no actual shed). We have in a previous home used half the garage for storage but we didn't have a yard then. Will a shed be invaluable if we plan to mow our own lawn and a do a little gardening? If there were no foundation I probably wouldn't add one, but it seems wasteful to break it up if we find we need it later. We have two young kids. Lot is 7500 sq feet, house is about 1500 on one story.
And any recs on sheds? |
| How big is the foundation for the shed? As it stands now, you are not able to enjoy the yard space being taken up by the foundation. Does this bother you? Does it make the yard feel too small? If the answer is no to both questions, then I would build a quality shed. |

Costco
http://www.costco.com/Burlington-12'-x-8'-Wood-Storage-Shed.product.11495349.html http://www.costco.com/Everton-8'-x-12'-Wood-Storage-Shed.product.11672496.html http://www.costco.com/Aston-10'-x-7.5'--Wood-Shed.product.100003338.html We got ours there and love it. They said they don't install but after delivery, someone called at a reasonable price to install from the manufacture so we used them. They go on sale every few weeks/months so wait for a sale. You also have to buy shingles and paint. Far cheaper than most places. HD has some of the same sheds but Costco quality is better. You can change where the doors and windows are located if the spacing does not work for you. |
