Where to buy tenderloin near McLean or mail order?

Anonymous
The Balducci's butcher will only let us pre-order tenderloin for Christmas dinner if we order the pre-cooked one. Pre-cooked is a no-go for us, and although they assure us there will be plenty available without pre-ordering, we are not willing to risk running around on the 24th trying to find a main course.
We've thought about the Organic Butcher in McLean or Allen Bros mail order. Any other suggestions?

You can order one through Whole Foods, but only a whole tenderloin (3.5-5 lbs). Last year we did that and then asked them to divide it and just give us 2.5 lbs when we picked it up. It was no problem at all. Unfortunately, this year we live near a WF without a butcher (Tysons), so I don't know what we're going to do. I guess I'll just chance it?! Anyone know if the Vienna location has a butcher?

Whole Foods in Clarendon.

Costco, Whole Foods in Tysons will do it if you ask. Also, try Fresh Market in Vienna, they had tenderloins out for Thanksgiving, I'm sure they will have some for Christmas.

+2. I bought one yesterday. They range from 4-6 pounds or so. $20/lb. I've gotten them before and they are excellent.

One or 2 in the general vicinity of Dulles, as far as I know. And no, that's not grocery shopping distance from McLean.
