Does Cherrydale have community feel?

I'm familiar with north Arlington neighborhoods like Lyon Village, Tara, and Larchmont having lots of kids and being close knit. Does Cherrydale have the same thing?
I have a friend who lives there and she's very gregarious and she's always out walking her dog, but she's yet to make friends there. That worries me. Can someone tell me what the community feel is like, if there's any at all? Thanks. |

| My understanding is that is has a strong community feel. I dont live there, but some of my aquantices have compared it to that old neighborhood on that Andy Griffith show. |

Cherrydale is a very tight knit community. The civic association meetings are always well attended, and it sponsors an annual Parade featuring the W-L HS marching band. The neighborhood hosted a candidates debate before the fall county board election.
The Cherrydale Volunteer Fire Dept is hosting the annual visit with santa on the 23rd. http://cherrydalevfd.org/ Cherrydale also has its own neighborhood branch library. |
