Infertility Support and Discussion

I'm just trying to get a feel for how this clinic and Dr. Muasher would be. I am currently a patient at Columbia and am fairly happy there, but am frustrated with the level of attention (or lack there of) from the nurses and staff. I just feel like things get lost in the shuffle and it concerns me. I am the type of patient who likes to have all of the information, copies of reports, etc and I'm thinking that a smaller clinic may work better for my needs. Has anyone had experience with them?
Thanks! |
| LOVED them... ended up conceiving on my own and finally carrying to term but really really loved the service and attention I got here. I used to joke that I wasn't sure if they prepped before my appts so that I was always greeted by name or if they really knew who i was.... |
| I also like all the info and details on my treatment but I was told by an MD that Muasher has a great lab but my MD didn't recommend him due to his paternalistic (doctor knows best - don't question me) bedside manner. |

PP here who has used them.... REALLY?!?!?!
He is dry -- no doubt about that -- but I always asked lots of questions, etc. and had no issues. Really like his staff too. full disclosure - I was seeing his wife, Lisa Muashaer, and her practice for OB/GYN so really didn't look anywhere else. His website has videos of him talking about various things -- check him out -- and if nothing else, go talk with him and see for yourself. |

Wow- this is so different- I interviewed Dr Muasher after having 3 disaster IUIS from GIVF (they missed my ovulation every time- if that could be possible- I even said it was close since i was reading about blood levels and ultrasounds- dimensions of eggs- they told me i read too much on the internet- happy to say i picked sg and have a healthy baby). Anyway- I was prepared with my thick folder of ttc history- from dc1 that we had 4 m/c's to at that point thanks to givf had 3 failed and untimed iuis (and we had tried naturally for 6 months before going to GIVF). Th Dr knew his stuff but -* looking back* he gave in to what I thought would work.. I wanted the medication to go a lot higher- and I knew by reading that my medication had been increased already at GIVF by my insistance through the IUIs and the same piddly result happened (I am a poor responder etc.) .
Dr Muasher told me he coould blast me (meaning double the really super high dose i already had) if that's what i wanted.. i had already gone to dr g at dominion who was my firfst post givf interview and said he'd blast me- increase the dose to the max- that to me sounded great.. so i conveyed that to Dr Muasher.. when i went to SG- Ithe dr looked it over nad asked me to please let him review- and then said he didn't think increasing anything would make a difference- that i was a low egg responder - that i had done 3 everytime and did not thing even more medicine would make a difference.. and - well- he was right. |
