After a May miscarriage we enjoyed our summer and then TTC unsuccessfully for a several months now. I have also now experienced irregular periods where the time between them has gone from 28 days, to 27, then 24, 26, and now 22! This was not the case when on the pill or earlier this year when off of it.
I'm thinking about seeing my obgyn now since this is frustrating and getting worse. Anyone else experience this and get any helpful diagnosis or answers? I also have a lot of stress at work with a dysfunctional boss that has made life a bit miserable since July. But I don't want to blame stress and continue to have an issue. I am 34 yo. |
Other than the 22 day cycle, which is too short, the others aren't necessarily anything to worry about, other than the possibility of having a luteal phase defect, which could be treated with progesterone suppositories. Are you charting so you know how long your LP is?
Also, as you know, stress can delay ovulation, but it can't affect your luteal phase--if anything, stress would make your periods longer. |
OP - I'm in a very similar boat. End of first tri miscarriage this summer. Trying now for months. Cycles are shorter than ever before in my life 24-28 days... So hard to try and try, then wait and wait each month and ending up with a period. ![]() Perhaps you aren't ovulating each month? Perhaps you could find a way to detox from your boss or switch jobs/positions? Are you still taking a prenatal and getting enough iron? |
