| I heard it in the radio this morning and thought it was a joke but really?? I probably spend about $400 a year at Starbucks so I can see having a card with that much money on it, but $50 for the card itself. WHY???? |
| What are you talking about? Link, please. |

Not the OP, but I googled and found this
http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2012/12/04/starbucks-gift-cards-gilt/1742771/ Basically it's a $400 gc to Starbucks, but made of metal and costs $50 to produce, so Starbucks charges $450 for it. |
| Sorry, I guess it's made of STEEL, not "metal"... |
It sounds totally lame, but there is this (from the article):
So maybe you get your $50 back... |
|
I get Starbucks daily but I would not pay 50 dollars for a card that I can get for free.
PP, the benefits are available through any gold card. |
| How can that possibly cost $50 to make? |
|
As my brother would say; "that's for people who hate money"
|
| Its being sold on Gilt - once public sales open tomorrow, it will be gone within an hour. |
