looking for new infertile friends...

Anonymous
Most of my close friends that were having trouble conceiving have had their first child already. So, I am in need of new infertile friends/support group. Anyone know anyone in Del Ray, Alexandria? It's something that most people don't talk about so it's hard to know if any of my other friends are having trouble. I'd be up for new DC friends too....if anyone wants to meet face to face sometimes. I've been TTC for 2.5 years with 4 failed IUI's and 1 failed IVF. Sometimes the message board just isn't personal enough.

I am TTC 5 years, 4 failed IUIs and just had an IVF ET and live in Del Ray. I could use someone to talk to as well. If you give me your number or an e-mail, I would be happy to call or write.

I also recommend checking out the website: ivfconnections.net -- once log into their boards go to -- IVF --> IVF By Location -->IVF in the US --> Virginia

Good Luck! I've been there and know how tough it is. We went through years of TTC and 3 failed IVF's before having success.

You should also try resolve.org. It' a national association that deals with intertility issues. They have a message board where I met other women in the DC/VA area that were going through IUI/IVF treatments the same time I was.

I found a great group of ladies on the message board there that were all local and developed friendships while I was trying to conceive. Good luck to you.

Have you thought of finding a support group dedicated to this issue? Might be easier than finding new friends...call the dr/hosp you use, they could give you some leads!

You sound like you could really benefit from joining a support group -- it's really helpful to know and interact with (and I mean truly, not just online) people who truly understand what you are going through.

RESOLVE offers a support group in your area. Go to http://www.resolve.org/site/PageServer?pagename=matlantic_homepage to find out more information. (Click on "Find a Peer-Led Support Group).

If you don't feel ready to join a support group, you may want to check out one of the educational programs coming up this Fall. (Under Upcoming Programs).

Best of luck to you.
