I want to put one together this year. DH loves mostly classical Christmas music, think Handel's Messiah. I don't like totally trendy, modern takes but would like to put a list together that includes classics like Bing Crosby and others.
What are your favorites that would be pretty background music on Christmas morning or while baking cookies? Thanks! |

CD or Download of piano selections called "A Steinway Christmas"
Divine. |

That sounds like a good selection 15:43. Is it mostly classical? I can't stand to hear a single 'nother Nutcracker excerpt.
|
| A Charlie Brown Christmas. Not classical but classic. You can't go wrong with this one. |
+1. Just so relaxing and peaceful. Vince Guaraldi is amazing. Always puts me in the spirit in a gentle way. I also love Frank Sinatra's Christmas classics, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald. Judy Garland's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" just slays me. It's so sad, but wonderful. Can you tell I like jazz/standards? |
| 3 of the 23 are nutcracker. Rest mix of classics and classical. |
There was a CD set I used to have a few years ago (I've since lost it )
It was called "Now that's what I call Christmas", and I think I got it at Target--on those end cap displays where you can hear samples of the CDs by pressing the buttons... It had all the classic Christmas songs |
| Mix in a a few classics from the Kings College, Cambridge, boys choir. Once in Royal David's City, for example. |
| The soundtrack from Elf! Love it |
| Thanks, everyone. Actually I'm hoping for some NON-classical but I'll check these out too! |
