What's the best option for pizza delivery in Friendship Heights?
Also, I'm figuring one piece per kid and one piece per adult (it's not a drop-off party); is that sufficient? I don't want to run out but I also don't want a ton of leftover pizza! Thanks. |

Potomac pizza.
Number of slices depends on age. I'm guessing they're little based on the "non-drop off" thing. In that case, I'd ask them to double slice (e.g. cut an 8 piece pie into 16, giving you little kid sized pieces) and order the equivalent of 1 big slice per person. If you're having a non-drop off party for teen boys, (which would be weird), I'd say 3 slices per kid. For elementary schoolers beyond 1st grade, I might say 2. |
| I'd budget more pizza if you are inviting adults. Dads typically put two on their plate when serving themselves. I'd probably eat two if I'm there for any period of time unless I sensed that the host didn't order enough, and then I'd feel mortified for the host. I'm Italian and the biggest sin is running out of food. Pizza freezes well. Round up. |
| I'm with PP on the quantity. Assume one slice per kid and two per adult (women and men). |
Agreed. It's not what people will eat necessarily, it's what they'll take. For us - I'd take a piece for my toddler and he'd eat half. If DH was there he'd take two, and I might too depending on time of day, whether I'd had lunch etc. DH would probably end up eating one of mine, his own two, and maybe half our son's depending on how destroyed it was after DS finished with it. That'd be 5 for us. |
| I always over order. I'd plan for two for each person (including the kids). That way you are covered if some of the adults eat more (or if you are expecting one parent per kid and both come). I like the idea of cutting smaller slices for the kids, though. |
| Ledo's on River road. I like the precut square size for kids. Definitely order more than one slice per person. |
OP here. I ordered based on more than one slice per person, and we had several leftover pizzas! Maybe this particular crowd is a bunch of light eaters or something.
