Anyone on with familiarity with Roland Park elementary school, in Baltimore?

We are moving to the area and would love to hear some "real" information.

I went to one of the rival schools back in the 80s. And, two of my friends who have children now have chosen to send their daughters to RP vs. sending them to our school. I'm not sure why - but to me, that speak volumes.

One of them has three daughers and has sent all three there. She is very happy with the school.

I am in Baltimore but not in bounds for RP. (Our kid goes to a charter school in the city instead.) I know a number of people who have kids in k-1 in RP and are very pleased with the school. The only complaint I've heard is that the classes can be on the large size (i.e. 29 kids in kindergarten.) But the kids seem to be learning and happy. Not sure what grade your kid would be entering, but this year there are 4 kindergarten classes and at least one of the k teachers did a home visit with all the kids in her class before school started, which impressed me as going above and beyond typical teacherly duties. It's direct-instruction style of learning, which, I've heard, tends to work better with girls than with boys. Good luck -- Baltimore is a great city!

Great school. One of the few Baltimore City public schools I would send my child too. Mostly middle and upper class kids from the neighborhood which is surrounded by many area private schools.
