Holiday Gifts for OT, Speech etc...

Anonymous
I'm planning on doing Target gift cards this year. For OT my DS sees both the main OT and another OT at the practice we go to. He sees one much more than the other (the other fills in probably once every few months). Do I need to give both a gift card or just the one he sees most often? Also, I was going to do $20 or $25. I'm not in a position to be able to do $50 gift cards this year. Is $20 to little?

We give very modest gift cards with home-baked cookies, but I don't know anyone else who gives anything to their private practioner. Maybe it's because in my group of friends we can't even afford the rates we are paying, but we do it for our kids.

I do know more people who give to their public school ST/OT/PT. Have never heard of anyone giving $50 gift cards to a private practioner. so that certainly is not expected. You can show your appreciation with a thoughtful note attached to whatever you give. I know the schools have a $25 limit. Some private practices have limits too. You may want to check.

$20 is fine. We are doing itunes cards to the speech pathologist as she has an ipad she uses with the kids.
