| Terrible mom, I can't think of anything to get my little one. He has a 3.5 year old brother so we have most of the typical 2 year old boy toys already. A grandparent is getting him a personalized PBK anywhere chair that he will love. Any good ideas other than books, race cars and thomas trains? Thanks! |

We're getting DD these for Christmas and her 2nd birthday:
Bilibo (Christmas) Twig (either Christmas or birthday, its rated 3+ but she'll be fine) Toy kitchen with accessories (birthday) We got her Tobbles for her first birthday, she still plays with them (and so do her brothers). She also likes Rody the horse. We're also getting her clothes, new shoes, and play-doh. |

I'm in the same boat. 2 YO has 5 YO brother and we have every toy in existence. We're getting him that Master Moves Mickey. Otherwise, some books we don't already have. Someone is also getting him the B Woofer guitar. it is adorable! Do you have the Leapfrog Letter Factory letters? That's perfect for this age.

It's great for this age: http://www.amazon.com/Maxim-30942-Everearth-Junior-Racer/dp/B00279IZP4/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1354124933&sr=1-1&keywords=everearth+ramp+racer My son also loves musical instruments so if you don't have those, they may be good picks. |

12:18 again - since you already have cars, you could get him something to go with the cars. Like tracks (ie: hot wheels or blutracks).
He may be a little young but Automoblox are fun. |

I have the same problem - my boys are 3.5 and 20 months. I really don't want more random junk in the house, so I think I'll be expanding on some toys we already have that get used a lot -- some new Duplos, playdoh supplies, etc. The young one might also be getting some toys that are more age appropriate for his brother (playmobil stuff) since we really really don't need more toddler toys, they both play with whatever we have, and at this age he really doesn't know the difference.
If you don't have them already, the Rody horse, play tent, and play tunnel all get a lot of use in my house. Last year we did a play kitchen and accessories for our older son and that still gets a ton of use by them both. |
| Also, do you have an easel and art supplies. Perfect for this age! |
| Simple puzzles, Play-Doh set with tools, Mr. Potato Head, Fingerpaint and paper, Fisher Price Farm and similar playsets... |
| Phonics Toys are the best gift for a 2-year-old kid. When my son was 2 years old then bought phonics toys that are a little more advanced but will still allow your child to learn and have fun. In my experience, this is the best gift for your 2-year-old kid. I am living in Washington, USA. I analyzed different websites online and got a better option for my 2-year-old son. Likeschoollikehome.com is the best website that provides different types of phonics toys at the best price in the USA. I prefer you can buy a gift for a 2-year-old kid from this website. Kids can learn while playing with these toys. Kids can spell out words using the alphabet tiles while increasing their vocabulary and creativity. |
| Do you have a tonie/yoto? Or magnatiles? Might be a smidge old for the two year old, but both are things the 2 and 3.5 year old will enjoy together for years. |

My 2yo is getting a balance bike (big sib still fits theirs so no handmedown), a backpack (ditto), books (can’t have too many), bath crayons (consumable), and a stuffed animal (because he likes them and big sib doesn’t so I’ve been cheated out of buying them so far and I want to). I almost got him a big kid bed but we’re moving in six months so I think we’ll do the bed transition then instead.
The magnetiles are a collective gift to both kids together although obviously the older will grow out of them sooner. |
NP but I did not know this was a thing and it sounds perfect! Is there a brand/type you recommend? (See a lot with bad reviews on Amazon) |
I ended up going with a set off Amazon that had mixed reviews but haven’t tried them yet so I can’t in conscience recommend them either way. I have made my peace with the fact that I may be scrubbing the bathtub nightly while they last and/or end up with permanent stains. But the kids are going to have a blast with them so I’m going for it. For a non-mess bath toy, if you don’t have a water wheel yet my 2yo is obsessed with ours. |

| My daughter requested an annual family pass to the local zoo. Done. |
That’s it? That’s all you’re getting your two year old? An intangible thing that can’t even be unwrapped? |
