GFCF ABA reinforcers?

Anonymous
So we have decided to take the plunge and fully immerse ourselves into the GFCF diet. It seemed to be going pretty well until I realized that my child may have sensitivities to corn, too. Of course, I'm discovering that corn seems to be in everything in the form of corn starch, corn flour, high frutose corn syrup, etc. Even the GFCF pretzels that have worked so well as ABA reinforcers contain corn flour. Just wondered if anyone out there is aware of food items that would work as strong motivators for my little one. She is very motivated by food, and a good eater, but I would prefer it if she didn't eat a lot of M$Ms all day. TIA!!

Why do you need to use a food reinforcer? How about a sticker chart or other cheap prizes?

OP here- ideally, I wouldn't use food as a reward. period. However, my child has mod/severe ASD and doesn't understand stickers or prizes. Musical toys will provide brief motivation, but food is the most motivating. If I was the parent of a neurotypical child, I would say no food rewards as this may lead to wieght/health issues later in life, but right now the benefits outweigh those risks. Thank you.

I don't have any quick answers, but you could look up Paleo foods.

I don't personally think hard-core Paleo is the ideal diet, BUT, everything is naturally GF/CF/corn free.
