I recently had a baby and as a result I've tipped over into the plus sizes...probably a 16 on top. It's primarily due to the expansion of my bust due to breastfeeding! Does anyone know where I can get stylish clothes for work in that size around here? Any advice on how to hide the huge chest until it goes back to normal?
I went through this postpartum too. It depends on your style, but a lot of the major retailers have size 16 and 18 available on line (Ann Taylor, J Crew, maybe BR, not sure, GAP). Also found Lord & Taylor has a good selection for work.
Macy's

As someone who is the same size as you(I have been for quite some time) try Lane Bryant. They aren't over the top expensive. The manager at Pentagon City is really helpful. I have shopped at LB for years. It has it pros and cons. Sometimes the quality isn't the best but it works. If you sign up online you'll get coupons etc.
For nicer things try Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom. Good Luck! |
The same thing happened to me postpartum, but I haven't quite lost it yet! Lane Bryant has a really good selection. If you like to shop online, try The Avenue (theavenue.com). Their clothes are the same quality as Lane Bryant, but they have better sales. Good luck shopping!
i think target's plus size clothing is cute too.
There are a couple of Avenue stores around. One is near Bailey's. The other is in Sterling. I am in VA so I'm not sure about MD or DC.

I am in the same situation as well. I went to Nordstrom online for a dress for a black tie event....they actually have really nice stuff, but can be pricey. Lord and Taylor is where I find my pants and jeans. For day to day stuff, Old Navy and Target are really great and affordable. I also got a few things from J.Jill...pricey but really nice and comfy! The Gap online has a good selection too.

Talbots (when there's a sale). If you're short and overweight like me, their women's petites fit very well.
Nordstrom Rack.
