I was looking at the menu of a Potomac ES and was wondering if the food was prepared on-site. Any schools in Potomac cook from scratch? Any use mostly organic food? TIA! |

Bring your own, princess. |
All MCPS cafeterias serve the same food. None is prepared on site. |
But it's Potomac! Shouldn't it be different? |
LOL |
Sounds like we need to circulate an online petition. |
There are no active kitchens in MCPS schools, just refrigerators and warmers.
Even in Potomac. |
Thanks 8:50. I did not know if the food prep varried from school to school or not. When I was little different schools had different food that was prepared in the kitchen. My mother taught in one of the less affluent schools and they had home made rolls and farm fresh produce. It is took bad that none of the food in MOCO schools is prepared on site with fresh or organic ingredients. |
Hard to do that for $2.75 a meal. MoCo is big on standardization and there is a limit on what individual schools can do. But many kids bring their own lunches so you can pack whatever you want for your child. |
Lunches should be catered at Potomac Elem. |
The issue is that this food needs to be cheap for the FARMS so yes we all suffer. |
Hmmm... I wouldn't consider packing lunches for my children suffering. |
Brings back memories of my daughters daycare where the parent board brought in a chef and organic menu and then proceeded to cut teachers vacation, sick time and raises. |
This has to be a joke. No one is this stupid. |
