Where can I find a nice, quality, interesting but professional looking bag for $150 or less?

Obviously at this price point designer bags are out, and they're not really my thing anyway. My current bag is from a boutique in a town where we went on vacation but it's falling apart after a few years of abuse. Is there anywhere in northern VA or online to find boutique-y bags for $150 or less? I want something pretty big that I can use for work and on weekends. TIA!

I got a black leather with gold accents yet rather plain toat-ish thing at TJ Maxx. But it's obviously a "work bag" so probably not what you are looking for.TJ maxx downtown has a rather large big bag collection and there seems to be a lot of variety.

Brooks Brothers. Watch the clearance online or go to the outlet. Very niice leather, well made, no obvious logos.

E bay. they have gotten very strict about "real" but there are still bargains. People sell new handbags all the time.

Take a look at Levenger. I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but every now and then they have some really nice ones that aren't super expensive.

Where do you live? If you live near Reston/Herndon, you must go to N'used. It is an upscale consignment store and they are very picky about the quality of the merchandise. I have consigned stuff there any they will definitely turn things away if it isn't in perfect (or very near perfect) condition. They always have an assortment of designer bags for under $150. Check it out! You may want to call ahead of time to find out what they have in stock at the moment..... Good luck!

Are you on any of the flash sale sites? GILT often has nice options for half price (although they did Hermes yesterday, so you would have needed $58k for a bag). I think Haute Look also has nicer brands on sale...

Agree about the flash sale sites. I got a Latico bag for 80 bucks on the MyHabit site.

You'll still do better at certain TJ Maxx's and Marshall's. The best ones are the TJ Maxx downtown and the one in McLean. Both of those are more high end. I shop all of the "flash sites" like Hautelook, Gilt and Ruelala, but still do better for bags at these stores. Also try Overstock.com.

Marshall's and TJ Maxx on Rockville Pike, Rockville MD and in Tyson's corner sells amazing designer bags (i.e. Michael Kors, Cynthia Rowley, and even Kate Spade) from this season and last, for a fraction of the cost.
