Are high property taxes a deal breaker?

Presumably you're looking in a set price range, so the taxes are what they are. Only way they would vary appreciably might be MD vs VA or something. |

This isn't true ... at least not in DC. Property taxes vary wildly here for houses in the same price range. |

| Is this in Montgomery County? If the house is owner occupied, you are eligible for a discount on your taxes - Homestead Exemption. Is the tax rate you were quoted for the house based on a non-owner occupied property? |
