Is there anyone out there who knows anything about this program at this particular location? Would you recommend it for a 3 year old? I've gone to their website and have passed by the building but have not heard anything from anyone yet. I know their program in Capitol Hill is fairly established. Thanks! |
I know two people who have put their children there who are quite happy with it. Both have three-year-olds. |
Our daughter started at Appletree in August (she's 3) and we couldn't be more impressed with the quality and energy of the teachers. The staff is always going above and beyond in their lessons, interactions with the students, and making themselves available to the parents. |
Anybody care to weigh in again with most of the school year behind us? I'm looking for Kindergarten for next year - I realize I may have already missed the boat if I didn't apply for the lottery. |
Appletree doesn't do K, just 3 year olds and Pre-K.
We did the 3 year old program at Riverside. It was lovely. |
Have you toured it? It's fantastic - really a model school for early education! The regular DCPS Pre-Ks don't compare, even in upper NW. The staff to student ratios are just excellent: 3 teachers for 18 students. Also check out Bridges which is in Columbia Heights as well, same early education focus and staff:student ratios (2:12 or better). |
