Petreus scandal in a nutshell

His crazy mistress got jealous of the family friend and started emailing her. Friend reports to her FBI lover who in turn decides to investigate and finds out it's Paula who is doing Petreus. FBI agent subsequently gets bitter, probably after Jill dumps him and reports this to higher ups and his congressman and starts a full blown investigation that destroys everyone. Done and done.

add - in the meantime, Jill was also exchanging an unclear number of e-mails (FBI says 30K, he say a few hundreds) with Petreus' sucessor General Allen, who probably should have more pressing things to do back in Afganistan than sitting at his PC e-mailing a married woman in Florida

Add - in the meantime, both Petraus and Allen get involved in child custody battle of the married Florida woman's twin sister who was found to be 'psychologically unstable'.

even if it was 30k pages and not e-mails, in three years would be an average of 30 pages A DAY. even if every page contains only few words, for somebody who is directing the war in Afganistan sounds like a little too much time for writing to a friend. I a sure he could find a better way to spend his time

What's even more sad, is that broadwell dumped petraeus and he kept emailing her! She got her book deal and that was that. Maybe she was going to do a book on general Allen next!

Everything you want, tons of photos other articles. I think the part about her leaving him is toward the end. It's really long. Some of the articles overlap so I may I skimmed and got it from a spin-off article but this is the main one I read and I do think it's in this one.
