I live in DC and have my transfer on Tuesday out in Rockville. Is it ok to drive myself with the mandated post 24 hour bed rest?
Yes, and loads of RE don't do bed rest in this day and age and others admit to doing it only to make the patients feel better and not engage in "what if" thinking if the cycle doesn't work.
Yes

OP here. Thanks all

I drove myself home (from Rockville to Arlington) on the transfer day, and the cycle was successful.
Absolutely. I drove myself for both of my successful transfers.
Same here. I drove myself to the airport and flew home all the same day. Also, all the research shows that best rest does not matter in terms of outcomes.
Yes. My husband drove me all 3 times (third one took). And I took the day off from work each time (although my RE said it wasn't necessary).
Yes. I flew myself to Atlanta and back for transfer, it was fine, got PG.
The two times that I did the mandated bed rest I got pregnant. The two times that I didn't I got a BFN.
How is this relevant? OP is asking if she can drive herself. |
I flew overseas the day after a transfer. That included time walking through airports and lugging my bag (granted, it wasn't too heavy). All that to say that I think bed rest is really unnecessary. Driving yourself home after transfer won't do a thing. And even if they give you a tranquilizer prior to transfer, the dose is so small that I really think you should be fine.
Oh, and I had success on that cycle!
