Autumn Cocktail?

Anonymous
We have friends coming over and I was thinking about making a Fall cocktail of some kind. Maybe something involving bourbon, or cider...

Does anyone have any recipe to recommend?

I'd go with cranberry juice, vodka, and lime.

Just bourbon & cider is all you need.

Mixed cold, it's a Stone Fence.

Mixed warm, with some cinnamon and clove, it's just yummy.

bourbon, cider, and Ginger ale if you want something fizzy

BTW, Jason Wilson at WaPo says that a real Stone Fence is bourbon and hard cider. But I ordered one at Bourbon, and got bourbon and regular apple cider, I think with a tiny touch of cinnamon. I liked it that way.

We had apple cider mixed with Pear Vodka at a recent wedding and it was ridiculously good.

Williams Somona usually sells mulling spices in the fall. Add to apple cider and add some spiced rum. I usually make a batch on my stovetop, but a crockpot would work too. The whole house smells great!

This sounds tasty. Another vote for mulled wine. Also, last night on NPR there was chef sharing his recipe for cranberry sangria. He mixed burgundy, with ruby port, fruit, cranberry, and let it rest - sounded delicious.
