s/o DC Tap Water

We are moving to another neighborhood in DC. The house inspector mentioned he thought there is a lead pipe going to the house (but is the city's domain. I guess the city has replaced some). Should we install a "whole house" filter? How much do these run? Should we filter again with Brita and refrigerator filter? We have two small kids, who have very low lead levels. I am not sure if this is due to our Brita usage or the lack of a lead line running into the house.

Question 2: Do all these filters take out fluoride? (I worry about their precious bodily fluids, you know. Not sure if they have introduced fluoride into our ice cream, Mandrake. )

This is in our current house. Sorry if that isn't clear.

Get it tested first. The pipes are old and calcium coats the pipes.
