OB/GYN in the Germantown area

Anonymous
We just switched from Kaiser Permanente to CareFirst BlueChoice and I need to find a new OB/GYN. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and just had an appointment with my Kaiser doctor last week, so I have a few weeks to find a new one. I had an appointment today with Simmonds and Simmonds but after waiting more than 30 minutes for my appt and then being told there was still one person in front of me, I'm not so sure I want to stick with that office. I prefer a woman and a smaller practice, but don't know if that exists. I looked through my plan and most of the offices are huge. The one I did find that is solo is a male. Has anyone had any experience with Dr. Kambiz Kazemi in Germantown, MD? Can anyone recommend a good practice that has experience in high risk pregnancies? I had a stillborn in May, so I want to make sure I find the best doctor I can and one who is caring.

I'm at Capital Women's Care with Dr. Gurdian and Associates. It is an all female practice and so far they have been great. My waits have been minimal at best. My pregnancy was considered high risk due to IVF and some ultrasound results and they have been very attenttive. I switched from another OB that I wasn't crazy about.

The practice is located in Gaithersburg.

PP here - I mean the practice is located in Rockville - near Shady Grove Hospital.

I used Dr. Shrout at Simmonds and Simmonds. I really liked her but the wait times were usually close to 60 minutes. I think the problem with all ob/gyns is sometimes they have to stay at the hospital or deal with emergencies. I used a one dr practice with my last pregnancy and sometimes the appts were cancled altogether if the doctor was called to the hospital. I preferred the long wait to having to reschedule.
