Chanel Suit- no exceptions!
Just kidding! I used to teach at 2 private schools in the area and moms would definitely come in for visits all gussied up and in Chanel suits-- We (the teachers and admissions people) would chuckle at that. I think the more down to earth you look, the better. For sure! |
Just be true to yourself and wear what you feel comfortable in where you are putting your best self forward. This could be a suit or it could be a nice skirt/slacks and top. I think it more important to be relaxed and it will be tough to be relaxed if you go out of your comfort zone in the clothing department. |
I've done a few interviews recently and found the admissions staff to be wearing business casual clothing or even more casual than that, even in schools that I thought were more formal or conservative. I wore a skirt and heels to one and felt out of place; after that I wore a sweater and pants with loafers. |
my DH and I did a Saturday interview in a suit w/DS in a sweater vest outfit (so preppy I know!)... I felt a little overdressed for a Sat interview, however I figured that if the interview was on a weekday, this is what I would have worn, so I kept the same standard.
That being said, we spent some time on their bark playground and I had to step gingerly in my heels... |
