Anyone ever try for a girl and have it work?

Anonymous
What methods did you use? (Shettles, Diet, Chinese Gender chart, NFP, etc...)
Did you use multiple methods or just one?
Did you have a girl?

Thanks! We are considering trying for a girl, but would like to know the odds.

NOTE:
We would be just as happy to have a boy, but everyone has one gender they prefer over the other right? Nothing wrong with that!

No "everyone" does not have a gender preference.

Read Taking Control of Your Fertility and the sections about the logevity of sperm.

And...next time you decide to post to this community, please strive to be more empathetic and sensitive. We are here to support each other through the painful/frustrating/heartbreaking journey of infertility. Your posting this question to this unique community sounds calous, shallow and thoughtless.

The odds are 50-50

I am with 13:55. A lot of us here have not only had failures, but we have had losses too. At this point, it will be a complete miracle if I ever am able to have one baby - gender of that baby is highly immaterial.

I'm going to assume you posted this here by accident.

13:57: Thank you. I needed some humor today.

OP, just ignore the posters who lecture you. Of course everyone wants a healthy baby. Nothing wrong with having a gender preference!

As someone struggling to conceive with one loss und her belt, I don't think it's insensitive to post a TTC qUestion that's not about fertility treatment. This forum is for all TTC questions, which could include unceasing odds for one gender or another.

Op, TCOYF discusses this. I don't think sex selection through natural means is generally very successful.

I'm with the PP who asked if this post is a joke. Seriously, post something this shallow elsewhere.

I agree that this question is better for the expectant moms forum than for this one. The first "t" in TTC means "trying." So, we wouldn't really know what would work, would we? I suggest you cross-post there, OP.

That said, I studied female physiology in school and the only method I know for reliably producing girls is for your DH to learn how to fly. There is a marked increase in female offspring among airline pilots. Good luck to you!

hmmm.... just been trying unsuccessfully for a baby for 4 years now-- no success with boy or girl- so guess I can't help you there.

With all due respect, it sounds like the question of someone who is Trying To Conceive. TTC. While I agree that it's a question better posed to people who are already parents, she has every right to be in this forum. I can't imagine the heartbreak that some women experience, however this forum is not closed to those who are also trying to conceive but have not had to go down that road.

Well then OP needs to consult the Chinese gender chart or something like that rather than post here.

PP I agree this is stupid, many of us are just hoping for a healthy pregnancy.
