Rustoleum cabinet transformations?

I'm considering painting my cabinets using one of the cabinet transformation kits from Rustoluem. Has anyone used these? If so, what were your experiences? What color did you go with?

I haven't used it, but have seen quite a few reviews of the products online. People seem generally happy with the results.

I did it last year and thought it was very good. To be honest, it seems like buying the individual parts separately would work just as well (the primer, the paint, top coat, and materials). I would probably do that if I had to do it again.

Wood cabinets? Do you have scratches? Want to change the color? What are you trying to do?

Yes! We just used it to update our cabinets before listing our condo. The results were awesome. We had dark cabinets and needed to go lighter so we went with the color "linen" which matched our granite. It worked out really nicely. It takes a few days though because you need to wait for everything to dry. A contractor recommended it to us after telling us we'd spent lots of $$ replacing the cabinet doors when we could just get new cabinets all together and that it would take several weeks (we were listing in less than two). It was a great option that was quick and cheap and looked really nice in the end.

I'm the OP. We have relatively newer cabinets in very good condition that are an oak color that I do not like (we bought the house this way). I'd like to go white (or whatever the rustoleum color for white is). Is it easy to screw up or fool proof? My fear is screwing it up and then having to replace my otherwise decent cabinets in the end because they look like crap.

If we are hiring painters anyway, should we consider this product or just use regular paint? This would be to repaint painted cabinets.

Used the espresso color to redo some early 90's looking oak cabinets before I sold my house. It worked great. Definitely takes some time and patience, but it's overall pretty easy. If you have a good work space it will help, I had to do mine on the floor which was a pain. But the product itself was definitely worth the money.

I used it to paint metal. On wood, I would think sanding and repainting with regular paint would work just as well.

My DH did it and he is pretty handy. From what I saw of him doing it, you just need some patience. The results were great though. There are many light colors to choose from.
