Someone asked why a dog breeder would only accept cash. Several posts down someone mentioned that instead of a breeder the op could adopt a dog from a shelter. Another poster mentioned that it is almost as hard to adopt from a dog from a shelter as it is to adopt a child.
I posted (my first post on that thread) that it is not hard to adopt from a county/city shelter, and that we just adopted a pet from a county shelter and brought our animal home less than an hour later. I also posted that private rescue groups can be harder to adopt from. After I posted my post, I noticed that the post I quoted and a few others) had disappeared, and now I see my post is also gone? What happened? Thanks! |
Do not know. As a breeder myself, half of the fee goes to the vet bills for the shots. The cost of buying a top breeding stock is very high. There is not much profit in reputable breeding. Puppy farms, however, are awful, profitable, and a lot of them are in Pennsylvania. Please buy from a reputable breeder! |
Probably because you didn't answe the OPs question and everyone is tired of preachy dog people. |
The thread is still there. And I wasn't preachy--I just related what my experience was in adopting a pet from a county animal shelter. |
I removed messages that didn't address the original poster's question. There was nothing wrong with your post other than it quoted a post that I had removed and would not have made much sense with out the earlier context.
